چکیده

Abstract The challenges fish face in intraspecific communication has resulted adaptation different parts of their sensory system, including the auditory system. Evidence suggests that capability is specific for each species. otolith a part system teleost fish, and plays an important role maintaining balance hearing. According to previous research, morphological variation otoliths result synergy between genetic environmental factors such as depth, diet, swimming, substrates. In this research we focused explain (1) variations gobiid animal inhabiting both aquatic terrestrial environments; (2) use distinguishing fish; (3) how systems adapt local environment. sagittal six species were extracted described. next step, studied using geometric morphometrics method shape indices. most common characteristics sagitta gobies median mesial sulcus absence clear rostrum antirostrum. A comparison examined methods showed morphometric approach was able detect subtle differences Moreover, it seems lifestyle vision could affect efficiency particular shape. For example, Periophthalmus waltoni (a unlike other spends its time out water) perhaps land water.

DNA barcoding of gobiid fishes (Perciformes, Gobioidei).

Gobiids constitute a major proportion of fish population in both tropical and temperate freshwater as well as marine ecosystem. Due to their small size, cryptic ecology and ambiguous morphological characters, gobiids diversity was not documented completely. In this study, DNA barcodes were generated for 11 species of gobiids, collected from the Ashtamudi Lake, India. The mitochondrial COI gene ...
